About the player
On 14 November 2019, in a UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier against France , Vadim Rață scored.
He came through the academy at Sheriff Tiraspol and was on the club's books from 2010 to 2016, making 48 league appearances and collecting Moldovan Super Liga titles in 2011–12 and 2012–13. Much of that stretch was spent elsewhere on loan — at Tiraspol, Zaria Bălți and Speranța Nisporeni — before he signed for Zaria permanently in 2016 and spent 2018 at Milsami Orhei.
Romania has since taken up most of his career.
That form took him to FCSB in August 2022 for a fee estimated at €0.3 million. By September he was back at Voluntari, on a three-year deal and again for nothing, where he played 65 times and scored four. Universitatea Cluj signed him in July 2024; he made 22 appearances in the 2024–25 season, 18 of them in the league.
He arrived at Argeș Pitești on a free transfer on 17 June 2025 and wears number 22. With the national side, where he debuted on 14 February 2015, he had 63 caps as of March 2026.
