About the player
He joined São Paulo in 2013, at 13, and signed a professional contract there in 2020. What he did win in that shirt came a year earlier, when he was part of the youth side that took the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior in 2019.
The move that finally gave him senior football came in 2020, when Red Bull Bragantino took him on loan. He played 20 matches in Série A that season, enough for the club to act on its option: in 2021 Bragantino bought 70% of his economic rights from São Paulo for around 2 million reais. In December 2022 the contract was terminated by mutual agreement.
Portugal followed. Weverson signed for Arouca as a free agent in the summer of 2023, on a deal running to 2025. When it expired he went back to Brazil with Fortaleza , on terms through to the end of 2026 with an option to extend. On 29 January 2026 he returned to Europe, joining Gil Vicente , again as a free agent.
His international record belongs almost entirely to his teens. Weverson made 20 appearances for Brazil's under-17s and scored once, and was also called up at under-15 and under-20 level. He has not played for the senior national team.
