Zachery Lewis McGraw

American by birth, Zac McGraw arrived in Portland by way of West Point. He spent his college years defending for Army Black Knights, four times named to the Patriot League's first team and picked as the conference's best defender in 2017 — a distinction that twice put him on the watchlist for the MAC Hermann Trophy.

Portland signed him in June 2020, and he waited nearly a year for his league debut, coming on against FC Dallas in May 2021. The following year, he went out on loan to the Timbers' reserve side in MLS Next Pro, where in just four matches he scored twice. He did open his account for Portland's first team in September 2022, scoring against Austin FC. In February 2025 he signed a new deal with the Timbers running through 2026, with a club option for a further year.

McGraw's path to international football took an unexpected turn. Born in Torrance, California, he held the option of representing the United States and considered it before instead committing to Canada, the country of his other citizenship. He made his debut for the Canadian national team at the 2023 Gold Cup.

Listed as right-footed, he has more often been deployed on the left side of defence.
