Andorra

The Palau de Gel d'Andorra sits in Canillo, and everything about HC Andorra runs through that single fact: there is nowhere else to skate, with room for 1,500 people watching from the boards. In 1990, its members drew up statutes for a hockey section, with the club formally constituted the following March under its first president, Miquel Naudí Casal, who led it through to 1997.

That changed only in the 2025–26 season, when HC Andorra entered the newly formed Liga Ibérica de Hockey Hielo, finishing eighth in its first campaign. The step up brought reinforcements from outside the valley — the Canadian Alex Cyrenne was the first name announced, and the American forward Jon Speer settled a game against CH Madrid with an overtime winner in that debut season, coached by Danilo Didkovskyy.

The gap in class showed most clearly against HC Jaca, the team that has set the standard in the Iberian league, with CG Puigcerdà and FC Barcelona also standing as the sides Andorra measures itself against.
