Araxá

The Estádio Municipal Fausto Alvim holds 5,500, a figure the club's own SAF filings settled on after years of conflicting counts elsewhere. In April 2025 the ground itself became the argument: Araxá's city hall told the club to vacate, arguing that its conversion into a Sociedade Anônima do Futebol the previous month had voided the old usage agreement. The club president called it persecution and took the matter to court.

That sale, completed in March 2025, put 90% of Araxá's shares in the hands of Euro Sports. Founded on 16 November 1958, Araxá built its identity in black and white, "alvi-negra" as the anthem has it, and its nickname owes nothing to marketing: Nilton Germano da Silva, the captain and centre-back who led the side to the 1966 Campeonato Mineiro Segunda Divisão title, was known as Ganso, and the name stuck to the whole club.

Everything Araxá has won sits at state or municipal level. The Módulo II title from 1966 was followed by three more, in 1978, 1990 and 2012, and the Segunda Divisão was retaken in 2007 and 2011. A single national campaign, in Série D in 2013, ended in the first phase, after the club had gone down from Minas Gerais's top flight the same year by finishing bottom of the table.

The name most attached to the club belongs to a player who arrived well past his prime: Túlio Maravilha, who scored what he counted as his 1,000th career goal in an Araxá shirt on 8 February 2014, against Mamoré.

5,500 seats, and a lawsuit deciding whether the club still has the right to fill them.
