«The Gunners»
Emirates Stadium seats 60,704 and belonged, until last season, to the men's side alone; Arsenal Women moved their fixtures there for 2024–25, leaving behind Meadow Park, a Borehamwood ground that held 4,500.
The building started smaller still. In 1987 Vic Akers, then the men's kit manager, put together a side after girls kept asking him for a game, merging with Aylesbury Ladies to do it. The club carried the Arsenal Ladies name until a rebrand in July 2017 aligned it with the men's crest it already shared.
Akers stayed involved long enough to see the team become the dominant force in the English women's game, and the record shows it: fourteen FA Women's Cups, more than any other club, and fifteen league titles split across the old FA Women's Premier League and the FA Women's Super League. The one trophy that stands apart from the domestic list came in 2007, when Arsenal beat Sweden's Umeå to win the UEFA Women's Champions League — still the only time an English club has done it.
