Atmosfera

When football in Mažeikiai collapsed in 2011, the town had already lost one club to bankruptcy and remembered another that had carried the same colours decades earlier. Atmosfera took its name from that older side, the one that had played under it between 1973 and 1990, and started again from nothing on 1 March 2012.

Rebuilding meant years in the lower tiers before anything to show for it. That came in 2023, when Atmosfera won the II Lyga and earned promotion to the 1 Lyga, the second tier of Lithuanian football. Marius Šluta had taken charge of the team the previous October and was still there when the title was won. Since stepping back up, the club has settled into the division without threatening its top end — seventh in 2021, seventh again in 2024, sixth in 2025.

Home games are played at the Mažeikių centrinis stadionas, which holds 2,400.
