Centrum Tigers

Magnus Midtvedt wore the captain's armband through the two seasons that still define Centrum Tigers, before a Universiade call-up with the Norwegian national team and, eventually, retirement in 2021. The first, in 2016, was more one-sided: Centrum Tigers beat Gimle BBK 87–74 to take the Kongepokalen.

The club had waited a while to get there. It formed in Oslo in 1987 but only reached the BLNO, Norway's top tier, in 2001 — and that debut season brought a reminder of the gap still to close, a 101–70 defeat to Oslo Kings, then the elite side of Ammerud IF, in a derby. These days it's Oppsal Basket that Centrum Tigers meet in the fixture supporters call the Oslo derby.

Underneath the first team sits a youth setup that has grown well beyond the club's own city, drawing more than 440 players from over 50 nations and sending on talents such as Georg Helvik and Marcus Barnett. That pipeline mattered again after a poor season prompted a rebuild in 2021/22, when the club brought in the Norwegian international forward Johannes Dolven to add size to the roster.

Home games are played in front of 1,000 seats at Vulkanhallen.
