Copperbelt Ladies Women

No team from Limpopo had won the national title before that shootout, and the win came with a prize beyond the trophy: promotion into the Hollywoodbets Super League, the top flight of women's football in South Africa.

The club had only been formed in 2019, in Polokwane. Nomphelo Yakuphi was named Player of the Tournament for her part in the run, a performance that got her called up to South Africa's under-17 side, the Bantwana.

Copperbelt play their home matches at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, sharing the city with Seshego Stadium as an alternate venue. There is no fixture the club treats as a derby in the traditional sense, though the AmaTuks tie from that 2022 playoff run remains the game supporters point back to when the name Copperbelt Ladies comes up.
