Dayton Dutch Lions Women went back into USL W League in 2025, returning to a level of competition it had already tested more than a decade before, when the Southeastern Conference produced a title in 2013 and a run to that year's tournament final. USL named the club its Organization of the Year for that season.
Mike Mossel, Eric Tammer and Peter van der Molen put the club together in the autumn of 2009, and the first team took the field the following year. The Dutch Lions crest and the orange, white and blue colours belong to both the women's side and the men's team, which plays as a separate entity under the same name.
Games are played at DOC Stadium, the Dayton Outpatient Center Stadium, on the West Carrollton High School grounds in the Dayton suburb of West Carrollton. The ground holds around 3,500.
A second conference championship came in 2016, this time in the WPSL's Valley Conference. Two conferences, two titles, and a league switch in between — the Dutch Lions have chased their trophies wherever the schedule sent them, from the Southeastern Conference bracket that delivered 2013 to the Valley Conference group that gave them 2016.
