Ella Van Der Meulen coached through it anyway. She had worn the club's shirt herself, back when the first women's side turned out for Toledo Villa in 2017, and by 2025 she was the one picking the team for its debut in the inaugural USL W League campaign. Two wins and a draw came out of nineteen matches, with 12 goals scored against 57 conceded.
The kit keeps to that red body with black arms, shorts and socks, a red trim run along the sleeves.
They play at Paul Hotmer Field, on the University of Toledo campus, a Field Turf pitch put in when the facility opened in 2019, with a videoboard at the north end and seating along the east side.
What they are up against is a Midwest league still finding its own shape. Detroit City Women and the Dayton Dutch Lions Women sit among the nearest and longest-standing names in the region; Ann Arbor Women and Kalamazoo FC Women add more local weight, and Racing Louisville Women bring senior pedigree from outside the state.
