«Girls in Blue»
On 22 July 2023, Indy Eleven Women beat NC Courage U23 2-1 in the USL W League final, taking the national title in only their second season on the field. Indianapolis's mayor answered by proclaiming a "Girls in Blue Day" across the city, borrowing the nickname the players had already made their own that summer.
The club had been announced less than two years earlier, in September 2021, built to carry the badge, the colours and much of the identity of the men's side, Indy Eleven. The crest is the same one flown across the men's material: navy and red, with gold worked in as an accent. The women's team stepped onto the field in 2022.
The championship did not arrive out of nowhere. In that first season, the team went through Great Lakes Division play unbeaten. Valley Division followed twice more, in 2023 and again in 2024, either side of the league title itself — three division titles across three seasons.
Home matches are played at Grand Park Events Center, inside the Grand Park sports complex in Westfield, a suburb on the northern edge of Indianapolis. The ground holds 2,000.
