Ferencváros

The women's side of Ferencvárosi TC plays away from the district that gave the club its name. Their ground is the Sándor Kocsis Sports Centre on Bihari Street in Kőbánya.

The section began in August 2004, set up by Tamás Hevesi and Anikó Deli, and the original plan was futsal. The move to the full pitch came later. Promotion to Női NB I followed in 2013–14.

What happened next is the part worth dwelling on. The first top-flight title arrived in 2014–15, and the cup then stayed in Kőbánya for five seasons running — 2015 through 2019. The league proved harder to hold: after back-to-back titles in 2015 and 2016 came a gap of two seasons before the 2018–19 championship. Since 2020–21 the title has not left them, six in a row through 2025–26. In 2021–22 they took both trophies.

The green and white and the nickname Zöldek come down from the parent club, founded on 3 May 1899 by Ferenc Springer and residents of Budapest's ninth district. That inheritance also brings the rivalries: in a domestic game where Ferencváros have won nine of the last eleven championships, every visiting side arrives with something to prove, and the fixtures that decide the NB I are the ones where the run is threatened rather than the ones the calendar marks out.
