Gardabani

In 2018, most of the Gardabani squad walked out. Players said there was no training base to work from and no money coming in; the club dropped a division as a result, and by 2019 it had stopped entering leagues altogether. It stayed off the map for two seasons before restarting in February 2021, this time with financial backing from Egyptian investors.

Founded in 2015, Gardabani had moved fast at first: promoted from the Meore Liga in its debut season, only to finish bottom of the second tier and go straight back down in 2016. What followed the 2021 restart was slower and more deliberate — the Regionuli Liga group B title in 2022, then third place in Liga 4 a year later, enough for another promotion.

The club now plays in Liga 3, the third tier, and in the Davit Kipiani Cup, where it regularly meets Iberia 2010, with no settled name for the fixture between them. Home games are played at Gardabani Central Stadium, capacity 5,000; the team wears blue and white.

There is no club website, only a Facebook page. Since the 2021 restart, Gardabani has climbed back through two divisions but has yet to return to the second tier it reached, briefly, in its very first season.
