Itaquá Athletico Clube
Club · Brazil · Campeonato Paulista Segunda Divisão
«Tropa do Índio»
The ground holds a few thousand, and for three years running it has taken in matches of the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior, the youth tournament Brazilians call the Copinha.
The club had been gone a long time. Founded in 1980, it stopped operating in the early 2000s and stayed dormant for 26 years. The relaunch came in September 2025, worked out with the city's Sports and Leisure Secretariat, and the first competitive test followed in April 2026 with a debut in the Campeonato Paulista Segunda Divisão.
Cafu is the reason the name carried through those quiet decades. He did his early football here before the career that ended with him lifting the 2002 World Cup as Brazil's captain, and the club has never stopped saying so.
White and black are the colours, down to the kit trialists are told to bring: white shirt, black shorts, black socks. The nickname, Tropa do Índio , reaches back to the indigenous roots of Itaquaquecetuba itself, and the mascot Iaquinho carries it onto the touchline of a municipal ground.
