«The Kino Boys»
A municipal council in Dar es Salaam put its name to a football side in 2014, and the Kinondoni Municipal Council remains the club's owner to this day. That civic backing gave the team its nickname too: supporters call KMC FC the Kino Boys , a shortening of Kinondoni.
Promotion to the Tanzanian Premier League followed in 2018, four years after the club's formation. The Kino Boys have since carried that top-flight status into continental football, taking part in the CECAFA Kagame Cup's group stage in 2019 and going further in 2025, when they reached the semi-finals.
Home games are played at the KMC Complex in Mwenge, a ground built for 2,000 spectators, of whom 1,500 have seats. The team turns out in white.
