Kotwica Kołobrzeg reached the peak of Polish basketball on a single night in 2009, beating Asseco Prokom Sopot 98:89 to lift the Polish Cup. Promotion in 2005 gave Kołobrzeg its first taste of the top-flight Polish Basketball League, and by the 2008/2009 season the team had climbed to third place in the regular table before finishing fifth in the playoffs — the best league finish it has managed.
That continuity broke in 2014, when the original SKK Kotwica entity went bankrupt and folded. A new club, MUKS Kotwica 50 Kołobrzeg, was set up to carry the name and the anchor badge forward, starting again from the regional second league.
Among the players who wore the shirt, Paweł Kikowski, Szymon Rduch and Łukasz Wichniarz all went on to play for the Polish national team.
