KuPS Akatemia

The arrangement did not last in its original form. In November 2022 the professional wing, KuPS Oy, pulled out of lower-league academy football on both the men's and women's side, citing rising costs, and handed the league places back. Responsibility for academy football passed to the amateur wing, Juniori KuPS, and the players involved were folded into the first-team squad. The KuPS Akatemia name stayed in use regardless, carried by the reserve structure that continues to represent the club below senior level.

Home games are played at Väre Areena, known in earlier years as Kuopion keskuskenttä, Magnum Areena and Savon Sanomat Areena. It holds 4,778, with 2,700 of those seats in the main stand and the rest standing. The ground's attendance record stands well above that: 8,543, set in 2024 when the senior KuPS side hosted HJK and organisers brought in temporary stands for the occasion. Yellow and black, keltamusta, are shared with the parent club, and the reserve side has no nickname of its own.

Juho Neuvonen is head coach for the 2026 season. On the pitch, the record so far is unremarkable: ninth in Kakkonen group A in its debut year, fourth in group C in 2023, tenth in Ykkönen last season. No title has followed in either division.
