LA Galaxy II

LA Galaxy II spent its last season under that name losing a Western Conference quarter-final in MLS Next Pro, in 2024.

The team began in 2014 as the reserve side of the Los Angeles Galaxy. It played its home matches at the Dignity Health Sports Park Track & Field Stadium in Carson, known locally as Toro Stadium, where 2,000 fixed seats could be built out toward 10,000–20,000 for football fixtures. Navy blue at home, white away, in the same palette as the first team.

Its real product was never the results but the players who moved through it. The name most tied to the club's purpose is Ulysses Llanez, who went from this reserve side to VfL Wolfsburg in Germany — the kind of jump the whole operation existed to produce. Goalkeeper Clément Diop and defender Daniel Steres also passed through on their way into the Galaxy first team, part of a pipeline the club valued over any USL or MLS Next Pro standing.

Local rivalries gave the second team something to play for regardless: El Trafichico against LAFC2, and the 405 Derby against Orange County SC, named for the freeway that separates them. None of it produced a trophy. In 2024 the club left Carson altogether, rebranding as Ventura County FC and relocating to Thousand Oaks, closing out its run as LA Galaxy II still without a USL or MLS Next Pro title to its name.
