Estádio do Leça FC holds a little over 4,500 people, first opened in 1923 after the club had spent several years dormant. Leça da Palmeira, the parish within Matosinhos where the ground sits, gave the club its identity from the start — white shirts and socks, green shorts, and a nickname, Os Leceiros.

The club was founded on 21 March 1912, then went quiet between 1916 and 1921. Reorganised in 1922, it rebuilt around the new stadium and eventually reached the top flight in 1941, finishing bottom that season.

The clearest name to come out of Leça's academy belongs to an earlier era. Goalkeeper António Lino Moreira captained the first team in the 1910s before moving to Porto, where he became the first goalkeeper to win that club a national title, in 1921/22.

On 10 June 2026, at the Estádio Nacional in Jamor, they drew 1-1 with Vitória Sernache in the Campeonato de Portugal final, David Nzanza scoring for Leça before half-time, and won it on penalties, 5-4, to secure promotion to Liga 3 for 2026/27.
