Those district honours filled the cabinet.

Seven years before that, in 1988/89, Fafe finished second in the second division and earned promotion to the Primeira Liga. The club had been assembled in 1958 out of two older sides in the town, Futebol Clube de Fafe, dating from 1925, and Sporting Clube de Fafe, from 1931.

The Cup has been the other measure. Fafe reached the semi-finals in 1977 and again in 1979, then waited nearly half a century before doing it a third time, in 2026.

Home is the Estádio Municipal de Fafe , built in 1968 and holding 4,000. It carried the name Parque Municipal dos Desportos de Fafe until the 2015/16 season, which was also the year Fafe came out of the Campeonato Nacional de Seniores and into the Segunda Liga. The kit has stayed yellow and black.

The club's ceiling has been set less by the squad than by the district it plays in.
