«Verdão do Norte»
Right now Luverdense's under-20 side is the club's closest thing to a title shot in 2025, having reached the final of the Campeonato Mato-Grossense Sub-20 before losing to Cuiabá. It plays under the same green-and-white badge as the senior team, since the U20 group has no crest or website of its own and is followed through the main club's channels.
The name Verdão do Norte belongs to the first team, but it travels down with the age groups. In the 2015 Copa do Brasil U20, Luverdense's under-20s knocked out Santos and Internacional in the same campaign before Atlético Paranaense stopped them in the quarter-finals.
What the youth setup is mainly judged on, though, is who leaves it. Gabriel Kazu came through the Luverdense academy and went on to play for Flamengo, Paraná and Avaí before coming back to the club in 2024. Fransérgio followed a longer road out, playing in Portugal and France for Marítimo, Braga and Bordeaux before a return to Luverdense arranged for the 2025/2026 season.
Luverdense's senior trophies, three Mato-Grossense state titles among them, sit on a different shelf. The club only fielded a senior side from 2004 and had to build the pipeline from nothing.
