Merkezefendi

Games in Denizli are played at the Pamukkale Üniversitesi Spor Salonu, a university venue with room for 5,000. The team started out in 2017–18 as Yüksekçıta Koleji, took on the Merkezefendi Municipality as a partner that September, and by 2018 had become Merkezefendi Belediyesi Denizli Basket — the name most of its early rise is attached to.

That rise came fast. In its first Turkish Basketball Second League campaign the side beat Lokman Hekim Fethiye Belediyespor 77–70 in the final on 13 May 2019 and went up to the Turkish Basketball League. Two seasons later it topped that division outright, finishing 25–5, and earned another promotion, this time into the Basketbol Süper Ligi. Yukatel came on as title sponsor that June, and the club has carried the Yukatel name since.

Mahir Ağva has captained the side through that stretch, one of the Turkish core the club has built around as it brought in more established names — Andrew Goudelock, Jeremy Pargo, Jordan McRae among them — rather than lean on a youth pipeline it hasn't had time to grow. A run to the semi-finals of the 2019–20 Federation Cup is as close as the club has come to a national cup.

Green and black shirts, worn by the Yeşil-Siyahlılar, are the one constant through all the renaming. Denizli has no basketball rival to speak of; the derby feeling in the city belongs to Denizlispor, on the football side.
