Penuel

A church group in Kryvyi Rih put a football side together in 2005 and kept it amateur for the next two decades — city championships, then the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Super League from 2018, then the national amateur championship. The lion on the blue-and-white shield is a statement of what the club is for.

The ground came the way most things came here. The professional matches are played 560-seat Oleksandr Povoroznyuk Stadium in Volodymyrivka.

Eighth place in Group 2 of the amateur championship in 2024/25 was enough to open the door, and Penuel entered the Second League for 2025/26 — a professional club at 20 years old. The first Ukrainian Cup run as one of them ended in the round of 64 against Karpaty Lviv, 0:8.

What the club can point to instead is the academy. Matviy Panchenko spent four years at Penuel from 2016, left as a defensive midfielder and now plays for Metalist 1925 and Ukraine's under-20s; Artem Matus, a goalkeeper, moved to Lokomotiv Kyiv for the 2025/26 season. The under-19 team has been in the First League U-19 championship since 2021/22.

There is no derby to speak of. Kryvbas is the other professional club in the city and the fixtures between them have been friendlies.
