Podhale Nowy Targ

Two clubs that had run out of road put themselves together in Nowy Targ: the football section of Szarotka and a second-division futsal side, Krokus-Podhale. That merger, in September 2009, gave the town back a football team under a name it already knew — the older Podhale, founded in 1932, had lost its football section in the spring of 2000 and left the game to the hockey players.

What followed was a promotion almost every year. B Class in 2011, A Class in 2012, the district league in 2014, the fourth tier in 2015 — four titles in five seasons, each one carrying the club a step higher. From the third tier the side has since moved up to the second, which is as far as football in Nowy Targ has ever reached; the historic section's best was second place in the A Class of 1951, when that meant the third level.

The regional cup has been kinder still, won under the Kraków and Nowy Sącz federations across four seasons, the most recent in 2023/24.

Tomasz Kuźma, who had worked at Raków, took the first team in September 2023. The winter of 2022 brought in five players with Ekstraklasa minutes behind them, an unusual sort of recruitment for a club at that level.

The meeting with Sandecja Nowy Sącz is billed as the Małopolska derby. Home games are played at the Józef Piłsudski Municipal Stadium on Kolejowa street, in yellow, blue and red.

The ground holds 900, of which 802 are seats.
