Rain / Lech

Rain am Lech's clearest piece of silverware came in 2000, when TSV Rain won the Schwaben Cup and reached the final of the Bavarian Cup in the same season. That cup form carried into the DFB-Pokal, where the club drew Schalke 04 in the first round and went down 0-7 — a scoreline that looked a little less brutal once Schalke went on to lift the trophy that year.

The club itself started out as a gymnastics society on 10 January 1896; football only joined the programme in 1920, and TSV Rain took its present shape through a 1946 merger with TV Rain, the source of its red and white colours.

Home matches are played at the Georg-Weber-Stadion, which holds 3,400.

Since then, Rain's story has mostly been written in Bavaria's regional leagues: champions of the Bezirksoberliga Schwaben in 1997, champions of the Bayernliga Süd in 2015, and promoted twice to the Regionalliga Bayern, in 2013/14 and again in 2015/16, coming back down on both occasions. A Bayernliga final followed in 2019.

The recent trend has run the other way. Rain finished 17th in the Bayernliga Süd in 2024/25 and was relegated; for 2026/27 the club is playing in the Landesliga Südwest, below the level it held for most of the previous decade.
