Real Valladolid II

Real Valladolid's academy needed a proving ground somewhere between youth football and the first team, and the club found one in 1942, when Delicias and Recreativo Europa merged into Recreativo Europa Delicias. Through every relabelling the side kept operating.

Some of them went a long way. Sergio Asenjo left the reserves for Atlético Madrid and Villarreal's goal; César Sánchez moved on to keep for Real Madrid and Valencia. Rubén Baraja passed through on his way to Valencia and Real Sociedad before he ever thought about coaching, and Onésimo came out the other side wearing the Spain shirt after time at Real Madrid.

The team trains and plays at the Ciudad Deportiva del Real Valladolid, the annexe pitches beside the José Zorrilla stadium, holding 1,500. The kit stays loyal to the parent club: white and violet, the shirt in vertical stripes, no separate crest of its own.

This season the side sits in Segunda Federación Group 5, after relegation from Primera Federación.
