Red Mashine Atlant

Mytishchi already had one hockey identity in the Kontinental league by 2009, and the junior side built that year gave the town's young players a rung of their own to climb toward it. It played as Mytishchi Atlants until 2012, then simply Atlants, and from 2019 carried the name SMO MHC Atlant before the club took on its current title in 2026.

Its best season on the ice came early: bronze at the Kharlamov Cup in 2011/12, backed the following year by a regular-season win in the Western Conference. Two Silver Division titles, in 2011/12 and 2014/15, filled out that stretch, and later trophies from the Governor of the Tula Region Cup and the Belyaev Memorial tournament kept the cabinet moving without matching that first run.

What the club is known for beyond its own results is what it has sent up the ladder. Nikita Soshnikov came through as top scorer of the 2012/13 Kharlamov Cup before a career that took him to Toronto, St. Louis and the New York Islanders in the NHL, with a Russian call-up along the way. Others followed a shorter path, staying inside the Kontinental league system after leaving the junior ranks at Arena Mytishchi, the 7,114-seat rink the club still calls home.

Games against Kapitan of Stupino and against Mytishchi's own senior affiliate carry the weight of local pride, grouped locally under the label Derby of the Moscow Region; Russkie Vityazi of Podolsk are drawn into that rivalry too. All of it traces back to a junior squad put together in Mytishchi in 2009, built to feed the town's hockey ambitions rather than to chase trophies of its own.
