Villa Soldati sits in the far south of Buenos Aires, a working-class barrio, and its football club has never pretended to be anything other than a product of it. Sacachispas took its name and its badge from the neighbourhood's identity, and the club formed on 17 October 1948.
The record is modest: three titles in Primera D, the fifth tier, the first of them coming in 1954 in the club's debut season after joining the AFA, then two more in 1999–00 and 2002–03. The only step above that came in 2016–17, when Sacachispas won Primera C and earned promotion to Primera B Metropolitana, the third division.
Villa Soldati still calls it its own, the same way it did in 1948.
