The senior club was founded in 2011 and has since dropped out of the Ukrainian Premier League. What survives at Lokomotiv is the part of the operation built to bring young players through — a reserve side entered in its own right, playing its own season, rather than a squad that only exists on training days.
That entry came in 2021/22, in the Second League, the third tier. The team is still there. No championship, no cup; nothing in the trophy cabinet at all.
Group B this season puts the club up against Rebel, Metalurh Zaporizhzhia, Penuel, Oleksandriya II and Trostyanets, among others. The matches that do come from further down, in the Poltava region championship, where Lubny and Kobelyaky are the neighbours — near enough for the trip to be short and the grudge to be local.
Officially, the club publishes colours and a badge for the first team only; nothing separate has been registered for the reserves, who go out in the parent club's identity.
