Skjold Birkerød

Two straight Zealand Series titles, in 1955 and 1956, marked the point where Skjold Birkerød stopped being a local side that had done well. The wins were the third pair of their kind: the club had taken A-rækken in 1941 and 1942, and had already used that run to reach the 3rd Division in 1943-44, beating Herning Fremad in a promotion play-off to get there.

Levring, a municipal teacher newly posted to Birkerød, began playing football with the boys he taught, and in 1917 that became a club.

Promotion to the 2nd Division in 1981 took Birkerød to the second tier for the first time, and in 1983 they finished ninth there. The men's side now plays in the Denmark Series, group 1, at the fourth level. The women's team went up to the 1st Division for 2012-13. In the Danish Cup, the second round in 2020-21 remains as far as the club has gone.

Birkerød Stadion holds 2,000. Yellow shirts, black shorts, black socks — and, since 1996, a supporters' club that took its name from the first of those colours, Det Gule Hjerte.

Of those 2,000 places, 168 are seats.
