«Hovet»
Martin Bengtsson learned his football at Sörbyvallen before Örebro SK signed him away to Allsvenskan in 2002, and Sturehov has measured itself against that kind of departure ever since. Mats Rubarth's name belongs to the same story, of a small Örebro side that turns out talent for bigger stages.
Sturehov started out in 1935 as IK Sture, covering bandy, ice hockey and table tennis alongside football before narrowing to the one sport. Sörbyvallen has room for 1,200 on its natural grass. The red and blue shirts, with blue shorts, earned the side its nickname, Hovet.
No league title or cup run sits in the club's history — Sturehov's story is told through the Svenska Cupen appearances and the players who moved on, not through silverware. The men's team has worked its way up from Division 4 and now plays in Division 3 (Mellersta Svealand), the fifth tier of Swedish football. The women's side has had the sharper rise, promoted out of Division 4 and now competing in Division 2.
