Swarovski Tirol II

A reserve side only makes sense in relation to what it feeds, and Wattens built one early: the amateur team attached to SC Wattens, founded in 1930, has carried the parent club's shirt colours and stayed in the shadow of its results ever since. For over a decade it played under a shared banner altogether, folded into the SSW Innsbruck syndicate between 1971 and 1985, and it was in that period, still styled as SpG Amateure Wattens, that the side took its first regional titles, winning the Tiroler Landesliga in 1976 and 1977.

The syndicate broke apart and the team went back to developing on its own terms, working its way up through the lower divisions. A Gebietsliga Ost title in 2008/09 pushed it into the Landesliga, and players such as David Jaunegg, Thomas Geris, Stefan Skrbo and Markus Wallner all passed through it on the way to senior football.

Matches are played at the Gernot Langes Stadion, shared with the first team, in front of crowds the ground's 5,200 capacity rarely tests at this level. The green and white of "Die Wattener" travels regularly to Innsbruck, where meetings with Wacker Innsbruck's reserves get folded into the wider Tiroler Derby rivalry between the two cities' clubs.

The Tiroler Liga was won again in 2024/25, and that title has carried WSG Tirol II up into the Regionalliga West for 2025/26 — a step above where a development side normally settles, and the level at which it now has to prove the promotion was earned rather than gifted.
