Í Fløtugerði
The pitch at Í Fløtugerði sits on land the club began buying in 1940, parcel by parcel. ÍF Fuglafjørður built the ground itself, paying for the work out of municipal money and loans it took on directly.
That order of events explains most of what the place is. Faroese writing gives it as Í Fløtugerði officially, though á Fløtugerði and the bare Fløtugerði both circulate.
Fuglafjørður itself is a fjord town on the north-east of Eysturoy, and the ground stands at Postrúm 94, inside the 530 postcode. Its position at 62°14'42" N puts it among the more northerly grounds in European club football.
The 2008 reconstruction is the one substantial break in the ground's history since it opened. Before that, the story is continuity — same site, same owners, same name across five decades.
