IF II ran riot against B36 II with a 9-3 victory in the 1. deild's Regular Season Round 20 on August 22nd. The hosts dominated from the opening exchanges, scoring twice within the first twenty minutes through J. Jonsson in the eighth and seventeenth. By then, the pattern was already clear — IF II would not let this one slip away.
M. Klein proved the difference-maker, netting three goals across the half-hour mark and just after the break. His strikes in the thirty-fourth, forty-fifth and forty-sixth minutes stretched the B36 defence until it found no answer. The visitors might have held on at the interval had they not conceded again so quickly.
IF II continued their assault after the restart. T. Hjelm added a second in the ninetieth minute, while T. Sjuroagaroi, J. Olsen and J. Okornoe all found the net in the closing stages. B36 II managed only a consolation through B. Reynatroo in the eightieth — a late reply that came too late to salvage anything.
The result leaves IF II sitting fourth with 33 points from 21 games, nine wins and six draws. B36 II remain sixth on 23 points after seven victories and twelve defeats. The ten-point gap between them may feel significant by then, especially with only two rounds remaining.
For IF II, this victory caps a season where consistency has mattered more than flash. They've shown they can raise the tempo when they need to, and against a B36 side that has struggled defensively, that quality told. The hosts now look ahead to closing out their campaign with momentum behind them.
