ИФ II Edge Past ЭБ/Стреймур II in 1. deild Clash
ИФ II secured a 3-1 victory over ЭБ/Стреймур II in their Regular Season-17 fixture on 1 August 2026. The hosts opened the scoring inside the opening ten minutes and never looked back. T. Hjelm gave ИФ II an early lead in the sixth minute, and T. Miezan doubled it shortly before half-time. Б. Reynatrod pulled one back for the visitors in the 51st minute, but A. D. Petersen sealed the win late on.
ИФ II controlled the tempo after going ahead. They got in behind the ЭБ/Стреймур II defence with pace and precision. The visitors dug in but could not find a way back into the match. And here's the thing — the early goals framed everything that followed.
By the time ЭБ/Стреймур II scored through Reynatrod, ИФ II had already carved out their advantage. The visitors showed some fight but lacked the cutting edge to turn pressure into goals. ИФ II saw it out comfortably, adding a fourth goal in the 87th minute through Petersen. To be fair, ЭБ/Стреймур II kept it in it for a while, but the deficit proved too steep.
The result leaves ИФ II in fourth place with 33 points from 22 games — nine wins, six draws and seven losses. ЭБ/Стреймур II remain tenth on just eight points, with only two victories all season. Their recent form tells the story: five matches without a win, including heavy defeats to Viking II and Høyvik.
ИФ II now have a cushion above the mid-table pack. They have the deeper squad and the momentum to push further up. ЭБ/Стреймур II face a long haul if they want to avoid relegation trouble. The gap between them and safety is growing by the week.
