La Visera de Cemento

The stand roof gives the ground its name, and it is the first thing anyone from outside Cipolletti asks about. Club Cipolletti has owned and played at Av. Mengelle 210 since the ground opened in 1956, marked by a triangular friendly against Newell's Old Boys and Unión Alem Progresista of neighbouring Allen. It marked sixty years there in 2016.

The pitch has gone back and forth on surface. Maintenance problems forced a switch to artificial turf in 2011; the club tore out the synthetic surface from 2020 and returned to natural grass by 2021.

On 8 April 1977, a 16-year-old Diego Maradona scored his first goal for the Argentina senior side here, in a 2-1 win over Cipolletti. Three years later, on 18 March 1980, New York Cosmos played a friendly on the same pitch with Franz Beckenbauer in the side, drawn 1-1. Independiente had already appeared in 1964, and River Plate beat Boca Juniors 1-0 in a friendly superclásico staged here in 1974. The Argentina national team also used the ground to prepare for the 1978 World Cup.

Capacity stands at 15,000. Recent seasons have brought less welcome headlines: crowd trouble followed a match against Ciudad de Bolívar in August 2025, and a supporter was stabbed in a confrontation at the ground in March 2026.
