Helibelton Palacios

Helibelton Palacios came through the youth ranks at Deportivo Cali and made his senior debut there in 2011, going on to win the Superliga de Colombia in 2014 and the Categoría Primera A title in 2015 before a brief stint at La Equidad. A move to Club Brugge in January 2017 took him to Belgium, and he returned to Colombia a year later to join Atlético Nacional, where he wore the captain's armband and lifted the Copa Colombia in 2018.

In February 2021 he joined Elche CF as a free agent, before a switch to Brazil, where he signed for Cruzeiro in 2023. Loan spells followed at Sport Recife in 2024 and at Millonarios back in Colombia in 2025, before he returned to his home country for good in January 2026, joining Independiente Santa Fe as a free agent.

The move paid off almost immediately: Palacios was part of the Santa Fe squad that won the Superliga de Colombia that same month, beating Junior 3-0 in the final.

At international level, Palacios was part of the Colombia squad that won the 2013 South American U-20 Championship, and he later featured for the under-23 side at the 2016 Rio Olympics, where Colombia reached the quarter-finals. He made his senior debut for the national team on 17 November 2015 against Argentina, going on to earn five caps.
