Freitas made his name at CA Acassuso, where he finished as top scorer of the Argentine Football Association's seventh-division youth tournament in 2022, netting 26 goals. That season put him on the radar of the national set-up, and he was called into Argentina's Sub-20 Ascenso squad under coach Claudio Gugnali.

River Plate signed him from Acassuso in January 2024. He made his first-team debut in the Primera División in November 2025. River Plate rewarded him with a professional contract running to December 2028, one that included a release clause reported at 100 million dollars.

That clause did not stop Flamengo from moving for him. The Brazilian club announced his signing on 1 September 2026 for a fee of around 17 million dollars including bonuses. He arrived at Flamengo as the club's second signing of the window, shortly after Anthony Valencia.

Freitas earned his first senior cap for Argentina on 6 June 2026, coming on as a substitute for Nicolás Otamendi in a friendly against Honduras that Argentina won 2-0. The appearance came during a run of call-ups for training camps and friendlies as the squad prepared for the World Cup.
