About the player
Khalil Ayari came up through the Stade Tunisien academy and signed his first professional contract in December 2023, making his senior debut the following year. He went on to make 34 appearances and score three goals for the Tunis club across all competitions, and was part of the squad that won the Tunisian Cup in the 2023–24 season.
His move away from Stade Tunisien came in stages. Paris Saint-Germain took him on a season-long loan with an option to buy in September 2025, and exercised that option in February 2026 to make the transfer permanent for a fee of around €1 million. On the same day it became official, PSG sent Ayari straight back out on loan, this time to Ligue 2 side Dunkerque for the 2026–27 season, without an option to buy.
At Dunkerque he opened his account for the club with a goal in a 2-1 win over Saint-Étienne on 12 September 2026, and has also set one up in a match against Reims.
Ayari's international path has run through the Tunisia youth ranks, where he collected eight caps and a goal for the under-20 side between 2023 and 2025. He was promoted to the senior team this year, making his debut against Haiti in a friendly on 28 March 2026. He was subsequently named in Tunisia's 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
