Manuel Roffo

The record Manuel Roffo now holds at Instituto had stood since 1981. During the 2023–2024 season he went 460 minutes without conceding, five clean sheets in a row, beating the previous mark of 437 minutes set by Carlos Munutti. It came in his first full season as Instituto's first-choice goalkeeper, having arrived on a free transfer from Tigre in January 2023, and it made him one of the standout figures of the club's 2024 Copa de la Liga Profesional campaign.

Roffo came through the youth system at Boca Juniors, joining in 2012 and working his way up to captain the club's junior sides and train with the first team. He never made a senior competitive appearance there, but stayed registered with the squad between 2018 and 2020 and was on the books as backup during Boca's 2019–20 Superliga title win. With the club's reserve side, he was named Best Goalkeeper at the 2018 Weifang Cup, a tournament Boca's youth team won.

He left as a free agent for Tigre in March 2021. He did not feature in the league during Tigre's Primera Nacional title-winning season that year, which earned the club promotion to the Primera División, but went on to make 28 appearances for Tigre across two seasons before moving to Instituto.

At international level, Roffo was first-choice goalkeeper for Argentina's under-20 side that finished runners-up at the 2019 South American U-20 Championship, and played four matches at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup, where Argentina went out to Mali on penalties. He had also been part of the squad at the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup as a backup.

Roffo signed a contract extension with Instituto in December 2024, keeping him at the club into 2026.
