About the player
He started out at Novo Hamburgo before Grêmio brought him in, first on loan and then permanently, and it was from there that Sassuolo signed him for a fee of five million euros in August 2021, with the centre-back finishing out that year on loan back at Grêmio.
In August 2025 he joined Atlético Mineiro on loan with an option to buy, an arrangement that turned into a permanent transfer for a fee of around three and a half to four million euros, with his contract now running to 2030.
A right-footed centre-back who wears the number four shirt at Atlético Mineiro, Ruan has never been capped by the Brazil national team, though he was called up to train with the senior squad in July 2019.
