Sebastián Paolo Galani Villega

Sebastián Galani came through Coquimbo Unido's own academy and made his professional debut with the club in 2016, part of the side that won the Primera B title in 2018 and returned the team to Chile's top flight. In January 2020 he moved to Universidad de Chile, though the transfer sent him straight back to Coquimbo on loan for that season; he went on to make 43 league appearances for Universidad de Chile between 2020 and 2021. A brief spell at Universidad Católica followed in 2022, where he played five league matches before the contract was ended by mutual agreement that June. He returned to Coquimbo Unido as a free agent the same month.

That second homecoming has defined his career. Galani now wears the captain's armband at Coquimbo, and in 2025 he lifted the Chilean Primera División title with the club — the first top-flight championship in Coquimbo Unido's history. He added the Supercopa de Chile the following year.

At international level, Galani was called up to Chile's under-23 side, earning a single cap in a friendly against Brazil U23 in September 2019. He has not featured for the senior national team.

A defensive midfielder by trade, Galani's path has been built around loyalty to a single club rather than a string of high-profile transfers: two departures, two returns.
