Santiago Etchebarne

He came up through the youth ranks at 19 de Abril de Cardal and River Plate in Montevideo before turning professional at Canadian SC in 2016. From there he built a career largely on the move: Montevideo City Torque, a longer spell at Sud América, a year with Guaireña FC in Paraguay, and a two-year stint at Danubio that ran from January 2023 to January 2025. Blooming in Bolivia followed for a short spell before he signed for Macará on a free transfer in January 2026. He has already featured for Macará in both the Ecuadorian Serie A and the Copa Sudamericana, and the standout moment of his time at the club so far came on 2 September 2026, when he scored twice in a 4-3 win over Manta F.C. He has not won a major title and has not been called into the Uruguay national team setup at any level.
