Fremad Amager

Fremad Amager have dropped into the 2. Division after relegation in 2023.

The club was founded on 10 June 1910 by workers and tradesmen on Amager, and for over a century it has played out of Sundby Idrætspark, home since 1922 and holding 7,200, with 2,500 seats.

The decades since have been harder going. The club went bankrupt twice, in 1984 and 1990, and in 1991 its members voted against folding into a merger that would have created FC København. A later attempt at consolidation, joining Dragør BK, Kastrup BK and Kløvermarken FB to form FC Amager in 2008, collapsed within a year when the new entity went bankrupt itself; the league licence reverted to Fremad Amager, by then pushed back down to regional level. A professional arm, Fremad Amager Elite, was set up in 2013, and Russian-American investment arrived in 2018 when Anton Zingarevich took a controlling stake, later sold on to American owners.

Among the players who passed through Sundby, Alf Olsen made his mark early, capped for Denmark after a 1925 debut.
