Lyn Women

Every meeting with Vålerenga at Lyn is billed as the Battle of Oslo, because Lyn's climb through the divisions has otherwise been steady rather than dramatic: promotion from the fourth tier in 2010, then the third and second tiers in successive seasons, before five years in the 1. divisjon ended with the title in 2017 and a first place in the Toppserien in 2018.

The team grew out of a 2008 partnership with the neighbouring club Koll, and what began as a joint women's project in the lower divisions now measures itself against Oslo's established side rather than against relegation form alone.

Frida Maanum wore the shirt between 2014 and 2016, before the promotion push that later carried Lyn into the top flight, and her name still travels further than the club itself. Guro Bergsvand captained the side through that promotion era, the kind of spell a small ground like Kringsjå — 1,000 capacity, 450 of them seated — tends to remember longer than a season's final table.
