Wejherowo ran out comfortable winners against Sambor Tczew on Saturday afternoon with a 44-20 scoreline in the Polish First League. The visitors took full advantage of a lacklustre home display to extend their unbeaten run while Sambor remain without a victory.
The result leaves Sambor rooted to 14th place with five draws from five matches and zero points. Wejherowo move slightly further clear in 10th spot after their first win of the campaign lifts them to three points from the same number of games.
Our prediction of a guest victory carried 63 per cent confidence and the visitors delivered exactly that. Things came to a head early as Wejherowo's attacking sharpness told against a Sambor side that seemed to have switched off at crucial moments.
The home side's recent form offers little comfort. They had shared four previous meetings with opponents before falling to a heavy defeat last time out against Czersk by 27-39. This result makes that loss look almost respectable by comparison.
Wejherowo have been grinding out results all season with their four draws before Saturday's win. They beat Morag 32-36 on their last outing and showed enough control to see out this comfortable margin against the bottom side.
The gap between the two teams on the table has now widened to three points. Sambor still have not tasted victory while Wejherowo have finally found the back of the net when it mattered most.
