Néstor Adrián Fernández Palacios

Fernández started out in Argentina, breaking into Independiente's first team in 2013 and scoring five goals in 23 appearances before a loan to Quilmes. A run through Paraguayan and Argentine football followed — Libertad, Independiente Rivadavia, Sportivo Luqueño, Almagro, UAI Urquiza — without ever quite settling, then a season with San Lorenzo in Paraguay in 2019 and a brief spell in Uruguay with Racing Club de Montevideo in 2020.

The turning point came in Venezuela. At Portuguesa FC in 2021 he scored 14 goals in 29 appearances, form that carried him to Peru's Liga 1. At Alianza Atlético he became a regular scorer, contributing 31 goals in 90 appearances across three seasons between 2022 and 2024, with his best return coming in 2023: 16 goals and 8 assists in 34 matches.

A move to Asociación Deportiva Tarma in 2025 brought eight appearances without a goal, before he returned to Venezuela with Caracas FC at the start of 2026. By July 2026 he had moved again, this time to Atlético Grau in Peru, where he has scored three goals in nine appearances so far this season.

Fernández has never been capped by Paraguay. He was watched by national-team coach Gerardo Pelusso back in 2013 during his time at Independiente, but a call-up never followed. He has said he would like to represent his country, though at this stage of his career that remains unfulfilled.
