Damián Josué Bobadilla Benítez

Damián Bobadilla came through the Cerro Porteño academy in Asunción and made his professional debut for the club in May 2021, in a Copa Libertadores match against Atlético Mineiro. He went on to become a key player in the Paraguayan side's Clausura title win that year, and in 2023 he received the "Futbolista de la Gente" award as the best player of the Paraguayan championship.

São Paulo agreed a deal in December 2023, signing him in January 2024 for a fee that covered 60% of his economic rights, with Cerro Porteño keeping the remaining 40%. He debuted for the Brazilian club on 27 January 2024 against Portuguesa in the Campeonato Paulista, and later that year won the Supercopa do Brasil, beaten Palmeiras on penalties after the final finished goalless.

At international level, Bobadilla has represented Paraguay and was picked for the 2024 Copa América squad. He was also named in the country's 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup by head coach Gustavo Alfaro. The tournament brought a difficult moment: in Paraguay's opening match against the United States, on 12 June 2026, he put the ball into his own net.
