Esteban Kirkman

Esteban Kirkman's return to Everton de Viña del Mar in January 2026 followed a career path that had taken him through three other clubs without ever landing a permanent contract. He had come through the Everton academy from under-14 level and was already training with the first team for Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana fixtures back in 2022, but no debut and no contract followed, and he left the club without ever playing a competitive minute for it.

The path back ran through the lower divisions. A 2023 loan to Deportes Concepción in the Primera B produced his professional debut, in a Copa Chile tie against Fernández Vial. When Everton did not sign him afterwards, he moved on a free transfer to Concón National for 2024, then to Deportes Recoleta in 2025, where he played back-up to Jaime Vargas. He has never been capped by Chile at any level.

Everton brought him back as a first-team goalkeeper for the 2026 season, and he has since shared the position with Ignacio González, with the club recording eight clean sheets across the campaign by July. The personal highlight of his season so far came against the club that once had him on loan: in May 2026, Kirkman saved a penalty from Joaquín Larrivey against Deportes Concepción.
